Mark was born a Texan, and as a longtime resident of New Braunfels, he exemplifies the values of this community. People who know him best will tell you that he still lives by the principles he practiced as a Boy Scout—being trustworthy, loyal, courteous and thrifty. He served his country in the Air Force and received his degree in business and finance from Southwest Texas State University.

This hard-working businessman has always upheld a high standard of performance. For eight years he managed one of the more popular river water parks, The Tube Chute, and continued building his stellar reputation as he climbed the ladder to professional success. Mark honed his leadership skills as a Production Manager for Owens Corning, where he was recognized for completely turning around productivity. Coincidentally, this is where he met his future business partner, Chyrel.

After years of professional success, Mark finds his greatest rewards are as a husband and father. The birth of his daughter changed his life and you can tell he’s filled with pride when he speaks of her. He lives by the credo, “You get by giving,” so he is very active in his church and volunteers in his community to make it a better place. He enjoys lifting weights to keep fit, swimming in area rivers and spending time outdoors. He is a die-hard San Antonio Spurs fan and loves bringing his daughter to games.

A True Human Resource
Growing up, Chyrel was a serious student who focused on church and school activities. She received a full scholarship to attend the University of Kansas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management. This was a perfect fit for her because friends have described her as patient, ethical and detail oriented. While she is extremely creative, she is also known for her discipline and gentle, yet tenacious approach to getting things done.

Chyrel met Mark when she was the Facility Human Relations Manager for Owens Corning, after being in the Human Resources field for the majority of her professional life. At Owens Corning she was able to hire employees who faced both physical and mental challenges and assist them in improving their skills. Today, she still loves working with people and helping them discover their true potential.

If you ask Chyrel what she enjoys most in her free time, she’d answer you quickly with a smile. Her husband is an avid golfer and now she has become just as passionate about the sport. Not only does this enable her to spend quality time with her husband on the links, it’s the one place she totally immerses herself and relaxes. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading (particularly mysteries or self-help books) and she enjoys cooking and baking for friends and family.
